Was The Great Pyramid Of Egypt Built Before The Flood?

I’m surprised how often I am asked about the pyramids of
Egypt. No doubt they are
fascinating. One common question that is
asked has to do with the age of the pyramids, and in particular the Great
Pyramid of Giza.
One of the main reasons for this question has to do with the
“claimed” age of the Great Pyramid.
Commonly in secular literature, it is said to be built around 2550
B.C. If this date is compared to
biblical chronology, then it existed before the Flood of Noah’s day
which was around 2348 B.C. and destroyed everything on earth (2 Peter 3:5-6)!
Obviously, something is askew.

Did this pyramid survive the Flood? Consider:
1. The Great Pyramid of Giza lacks significant water damage and massive destruction that would be associated with a catastrophic global Flood.
2. The pyramid is built on fossiliferous rock layers from the Flood of Noah’s day. So the Flood had to pre-date the pyramid that is built on the Flood sediment.
3. Egypt (how it is translated) is literally Mizraim in Hebrew. Mizraim is Noah’s grandson through Ham! Egypt cannot have existed until after the Flood when Ham fathered Mizraim! The descendants of Mizraim could not have built the Great Pyramid of Egypt (Mizraim) until after the Flood and for that matter…after the events at the Tower of Babel that caused Mizraim’s family to move to the region of the Nile River and go by multiple names (e.g., Mizraim, Egypt, Egyptus) now that the language was confused.

With all this evidence, the discerning researcher would
easily recognize the Great Pyramid is clearly post-Flood.
So, why the older date for the Great Pyramid in secular
literature? The dates for events in ancient Egypt came about by a strange
method. There was an ancient list of pharaohs and the length of their reigns by
a Roman historian named Manetho about 200 B.C. This was recorded in his book
called the History of Egypt.
Although there is much more to this, the short story is that
the pharaohs’ lengths of reigns were tallied one on top of the other to arrive
a very long Egyptian chronology. The problem is that some of these pharaohs
were reigning at the same time; some in the Upper Kingdom, Middle Kingdom andLower Kingdom! Sometimes fathers and sons co-reigned for a long time too.
So these dates are obviously inflated. As an analogy,
consider if we took all the governors in the USA and the length of their reigns
and stacked them one on top of the other…the USA would appear to be much, much
older—over 2000 years old! See the problem!
In brief, the secular date for the Great Pyramid far short
of credibility, and the Great Pyramid as well as the other pyramids are post-Flood
constructions.
